Set up your Anthropic API key

Set up an Anthropic API key within the add-on settings to use Claude models in GPT for Docs. You can register both an Anthropic key and an OpenAI key to benefit from a wider range of models.

Prerequisites

You have created and copied an Anthropic API key.

1. Create a Google document or open a document that you own.

2. Select Extensions > GPT for Sheets and Docs > Set API keys.

   If you get an error, it means you are likely using multiple Google accounts in the same Chrome session. To fix this, create a dedicated Chrome profile, then create a new spreadsheet and set up your Anthropic key in this new spreadsheet.

   If the problem persists, please let us know by submitting a support request so we can assist you further.

3. Paste your secret key in the Anthropic API key field, then click Save key.

   

You have set up an Anthropic API key and you can use Claude models in GPT for Docs and Sheets.
